Windshield Repair

It’s a beautiful sunny afternoon, you and your friends are heading to the beach and on the highway there a truck ahead of you flicks up a stone from its rear tyres and it hits square in the middle of your windshield, leaving a spider web of cracks sparking out from the centre of its landing spot. Surprisingly this story is a pretty common one, so many people end up getting chipped and cracked windshields from stray stones that get thrown about on the highway. Thankfully it’s actually a really easy fix to have your windshield back to normal. Not a lot of people know, but we can inject resin into your crack and repair it so that it’s just as strong, if not stronger, as before.
 
Resin Injection Systems
The resin injection system we use is state of the art, with all the bells and whistles to make sure that your windshield is up to scratch when we finish with it. The process involves a special resin that is injected under pressure into the area of the crack, the resin we use is designed to form a chemical bond with the glass, providing an extremely strong bond with the glass that in most cases are actually stronger than the rest of the glass.
 
Post Injection Clean Up
When the resin has cured within the crack, the pressurised injection system is removed and the surface of the glass is cleaned, removing any excess resin from the top of the glass and leaving a perfectly smooth surface. Most of our customers can’t even see where the chip was once we have finished, showing just how effective the process is. The resins we use are fast curing, so the whole process start to finish is over within just a few minutes, so you can get back to driving about in no time!
 
Chip Inspection
When we arrive to a job, the first thing we do is inspect each chip or crack that you need to be repaired, not every crack can be repaired so we make sure that we are actually able to work on it. Some cracks can be too big, or too intricate to repair, which is why we will often get you to let us know how big it is and send us a photo when you call us to organize a repair. We’ll walk you through the measuring process over the phone, and if the crack isn’t able to be repaired we can organise a replacement windshield for you.
